When I say that I “listened to” the Financial Feminist podcast, please know that I really mean absolutely binged and soaked up every single word.

I found this podcast sort of on accident. Another podcast I listen to, Fun on Weekdays, had reposted someone recommending a list of podcasts, and Financial Feminist was at the top of their list. I was in the process of trying to figure out what to do with my finances, so I decided to give this a shot. Man, am I glad I did.

I just started a new job and found out they don’t offer any type of retirement 401k or IRA situations and needed to figure out what to do on my own. Oh, girl, I have not only opened + invested in a Roth IRA (it is a two-step process!), I have an emergency fund, I have an investment account, I am using a high-yield savings account, and more. If you don’t really know what any of that means, you NEED to listen to Tori Dunlap and all of her exceptional guests.

Beyond that, she has many insightful conversations about several important social topics, including MLMs, bail bonds, discrimination in the finance industry, and why we need to stop allowing shame and fear from keeping us from investing and setting up our financial lives.

You’re not poor because you drink lattes. You can do this.
Rating: 10/10- For the financial advice, confidence boost, and social commentary.
